better known by his ring name Edge, is a Canadian actor and retired professional wrestler known for his long tenure in the professional wrestling promotion WWE, where he is a member of the WWE Hall of Fame. In 1997, Copeland signed a developmental deal with the WWF and began competing for the company later that year; he made his televised debut the following June under the ring name Edge.Copeland was trained by professional wrestlers Sweet Daddy Siki and Ron Hutchison. In July 1999, he won the WWF Intercontinental Championship at a house show in Toronto, making it his first title reign with the company.

The promoter, Happy Shahan, hired Johnny to perform at the Alamo Village, a popular south Texas tourist attraction and location of many well know movie sets.

Former professional skateboarder Anthony Pappalardo stated in a June 24, 2014 online radio show—hosted by professional skateboarder Alex Olsen—that he encouraged Joe Castrucci, cofounder of the Habitat skateboard brand, to recruit Rodriguez before he was officially sponsored, but Castrucci declined.

Alongside Mikey Taylor, Justin Case, Devine Calloway and Kevin "Spanky" Long, Rodriguez was an amateur team member, while the professional team included Lee Smith, Joey Suriel, Ryan Denman and Eric Pupecki.
He is WWE's 14th Triple Crown Champion and 7th Grand Slam Champion.
He also won the 2001 King of the Ring tournament, was the first Money in the Bank ladder match winner in 2005, and won the Royal Rumble match in 2010, making him the first wrestler in history to achieve all three of those accomplishments.
Growing up in Sabinal, Johnny was an A/B student, captain of his Junior High School Football team, a high school letterman and an altar boy at church. In 1969, caught with friends stealing and barbecuing a goat, Rodriguez took the rap.
